Vanessa Place pushes the boundaries delineating poetry and how we experience it: from commercializing the essence of poetry to elevating unconventional means to the poetic. Place is actively transforming our perception of poetry, bringing to language what Duchamp brought to art a century ago.

At the launch of MOCA’s Step and Repeat, Place’s reading of Poetry Knows The Heroic Artist, references multidisciplinary talent James Franco. It's a nod to his publications that have garnered a wide range of criticism, from the esteemed New York Times to the laypeople of Amazon consumers. Franco’s publications include two poetry books, the most recent of which is Directing Herbert White.
