State Sen. Holly Mitchell, 26th District, was the second of two senators to call into The Hot Seat on March 14. The district includes USC.

Sen. Mitchell and host Max Schwartz discussed the Rules Committee, her diverse district and Gov. Jerry Brown's budget proposal, among other issues. Sen. Mitchell also serves on the Committee on Budget and Fiscal Review, the Committee on Insurance and the Committee on Public Safety.

This will be her first full session in the Senate. She was elected in the special election to replace Curren Price, who is now on the Los Angeles City Council.
