Bus Riders Union protests fare hike... with theater

The Bus Riders Union performed a skit on the corner Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Western Avenue of to protest the proposed increase in bus fare by the MTA. Students and everyday commuters say they canot afford the increase and propose free student bus passes and the end of railway construction. The MTA said their operating costs are one of the lowest in the nation and the new plan will over a free 90 minute transfer. The Bus Riders Union will continue to fight for low cost bus fares on Saturday morning at the MTA.
