Pope Francis's name choice hint at new leader's guiding issues

Newly installed Pope Francis is already being hailed as a servant of the people. In his first public appearance in Saint Peter's Square yesterday, he asked for those present to pray for him as he starts his papacy. That action was praised as a mark of humility.

The former Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born in Argentina and most recently served as Archbishop of Buenos Aires. He chose the name "Francis" after St. Francis of Assisi, famed for his dedication to the poor and concern for the environment. 

I spoke with Father James Heft of USC's Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies to better understand that choice.
