The results of a new study on Los Angeles' demographics show that the city is radically different from the way it used to be.

Booming population growth, fueled by immigration, was the norm for L.A. in the 80s and 90s, but the flood of newcomers has slowed down severly in the last decade.

The population forecast was authored by Dowell Myers and John Pickman. It can be viewed online at USC's Population Dynamics website, part of the Sol Price school of Public Policy.

Michelle Decker worked as a research assistant on the study. She broke down the results for ARN.
