Our guest speaker for today's show is Dr. Roksana Bahramitash, an expert on the Middle East, gender and globalization. Bahramitash has worked with several international development agencies including the Canadian Development Agency, the International Development Research Centre, and the United Nations Development Program.

She is the author of Veiled Employment: Islamism and the Political Economy of Women's Employment in Iran and Gener in Contemporary Iran: Pushing the Boundaries. She earned her Ph.D in sociology from McGill University and is now working on a World Back funded project on female entrepreneurship.
