Charlie Beck was confirmed as chief of the Los Angeles Police Department today. During city council today, Chief Beck received the praise and learned that the council won't always be quite so easy on him. ARN reporter Ariel Edwards-Levy was at city council for the unanimous vote. Also, ARN reporter Jessica Flores spoke with Orange County Fire Chief Greg McKeown as he raced to the Ortega Fire near San Juan Capistrano. We were also at Cal State LA for demonstrations against imminent cutbacks at the state university system. Neila Jamee has the report.
