California listed 23 LAUSD schools as some of the lowest performing schools in the state. Shirin Parsavand explained what being a low-performing school means. Asim Bharwani got reaction from parents and teachers at John Muir Middle School. Southern California Edison, donated one hundred thousand dollars to LA trade tech's green technology education programs. Derrick's Jamaican Restaurant opened at USC thanks to a city business development program, the Downtown Los Angeles Retail Project. Karen Marcus spoke with Micheline Robertson, who runs a dance group of Haitian women in South LA.
