California finally has a state budget. Legislators finally agreed on a compromise that would increase taxes and decrease spending. The new budget would also cut funds from education and healthcare. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa commended Sacramento on reaching agreement and also announced that he would be lobbying to get more federal aid to put more police officers on the streets in Los Angeles. We also take a look at how a culinary program at Dorsey High School is helping to bring a new spin to the traditional home economics class. Executive Producer Kaitlin Funaro serves as guest host.
