Kat Bouza is a graduate student in Annenberg's Specialized Journalism (The Arts) program, where she focuses on popular music criticism. Her research covers all aspects of Los Angeles' underground punk scenes, from the hardcore punk movement of the early 1980s to the current wave of teen-fronted garage rock. Kat's work has appeared in publications such as Idolator and Prefix Magazine. She is also a co-founder of Lo-Pie, a publication focused on DIY and independent music in California.
Instead of attending Coachella, many Los Angeles music lovers opt for musical experiences a bit easier on the wallet.
