Our broadcast focuses completely on the wave of rallies against public education cuts in California, in what demonstrators are calling “A National Day of Action.” We’ll give you a 360 degree look on the education budget protests across Southern California. We bring you reporters live from Pershing Square, where thousands of students, teachers, and faculty from every level of education are protesting against the billions in state budgets cuts for public education. From UCLA to Cal State L.A., you’ll hear how college students are struggling with increased fees. We’ll also hear thoughts from education policy experts on the prospects for an improved public education system in California, where furloughs, class reductions, and fee hikes, are a thing of the past. Plus, the protests are bubbling up nationwide too. Hear from university students across the country protesting education cuts in their state.
Producer: Jessica Flores, Host: Heather Hope, Live Guests: Richie Duchon, Liz Warden, Alex Goldsmith (ATVN). Featuring instrumental tracks from music by Ben Thompkins, Gorillaz, Jay-Z, Rhianna, New Boyz, and Ryan Amen.
